Matanuska’s neck and soundboard have been finished. We installed the nut and bridge tonight and all that’ left is painting the back and sides. ‘Nuska will have an Alaskan themed painting featuring a moonface image in a native Alaskan style. We’re working out the image now and then she’ll be complete. Progress!
- Neck and soundboard have been finished. Time to add some strings!
- The grain on this soundboard is just beautiful. Rich brown with nice dark streaks here and there.
- The nut fits in a slot in the fretboard. We did this to smooth the transition from the head over the nut.
Smile when you play that!™
This one has a lot of nice little touches like the end of the fretboard and the nut that make it look very sleek.
The little accent at the top of the fretboard really smooths out the transition from the headstock. It’s very comfortable to play. And I like the way it looks too.
hey the comments work! Also, I think traditionally the ukulele has four strings, instead of one. 😉
My ukuleles tend not to follow tradition! ; )
